- Agricultural lime. AG Lime is ground limestone. This material is used principally for the correction of soil acidification. A few benefits of AG Lime are that it is drought resistant, improves water holding capacity of soils, and it actually increases the production of dry matter.
- Asphalt millings. Asphalt millings are pieces of recycled asphalt. These gravel-like bits are laid down and compacted with immense pressure and are typically used to construct roads and driveways. Although asphalt millings aren’t the cheapest, they definitely win in visual appeal.
- Crushed concrete. Crushed concrete consists of asphalt debris from construction projects. The best thing about crushed concrete is that it’s an affordable option. It’s frequently reused to build driveways, pathways, landscaping, and more.
- Gravel. Gravel is crushed rock. It’s known for its use in landscaping, road construction, and making pathways.
- Riprap. Rock riprap protects soil from erosion. It’s best used in landscaping to stabilize sloped gardens.
- Road base. Road base is a mixture of gravel and fine materials. When it’s compacted, it will form a hard surface that has a durable mechanical strength. The usual elements in a road base are granite road base, crushed gravel, or limestone. All of these are then compacted to form a hard surface. This material can be used in lots of different ways. It’s best known for being used to construct driveways, parking lots, walking paths, retaining walls, RV parking pads, and tiny house parking pads.
